Nagraj Manjule, Siddharth Roy Kapur workforce up for Matka King collection

Roy Kapur Movies has teamed up with Nationwide Award-winning filmmaker Nagraj Manjule for a brand new collection.

Tentatively titled Matka King, the present explores the world of matka, a preferred type of betting in India. Set between the Nineteen Sixties and the 90s, the collection is impressed by true occasions and the lifetime of Ratan Khatri. Ratan Khatri was often called the founding father of playing in India and dubbed because the ‘Matka King’.

The present ‘captures the tradition of Mumbai’s teeming working lessons of the ‘60s and 70s, and charts the progress of the nation by way of their lives and the betting syndicate operated by Khatri.’

Producer Siddharth Roy Kapur says, “Nagraj Manjule’s Sairat is one in all my favorite films of the final decade and I’m thrilled to be collaborating with him to inform this fascinating story that we hope will resonate with viewers throughout India and the world!”
