Immigration consultancy proprietor held in Mohali, 150 passports seized


Police have arrested the proprietor of a consultancy agency in Sector 70 for duping individuals on the pretext of getting them jobs overseas, and recovered 150 passports, two notary stamps, and a laptop computer from him.

The accused has been recognized as Vikas Verma, who runs Prime Worldwide Consultancy in Sector 70.

Naveen Pal Singh Lehal, SHO, Mataur, stated, “We acquired a tip-off that the agency was duping individuals, following which we raided its premises and seized 150 passports, two pretend stamps of a notary and a laptop computer.”

He stated as per guidelines, although he was operating a consultancy agency, he can’t retain passports or hold notary stamps.

A case below Sections 420, 465, 467, 468 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and the Immigration Act has been registered towards him. He can be produced in court docket on Thursday.
