IISER professor named UoH V-C

Basuthkar J. Rao, professor of biology in Indian Institute of Science Training and Analysis (IISER), Tirupati, has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of College of Hyderabad (UoH).

Orders to this impact had been issued by the Union Ministry of Training on Friday.

Prof. Rao joined IISER-Tirupati as professor and Chair of Biology in April 2018 after a a distinguished analysis profession on the Tata Institute of Basic Analysis (TIFR), Mumbai.

Along with his interdisciplinary data and curiosity in chemistry, physics, maths, earth/local weather and social sciences, he motivated the younger school in numerous disciplines.

Prof. Rao was additionally instrumental in organising the state-of-the-art COVID-19 testing centre on the institute to assist the federal government’s efforts in tackling the pandemic.

The lab had analysed greater than 45,000 samples to this date.

IISER Director Okay.N. Ganesh, Registrar C.P. Mohan Kumar and Assistant Registrar Inderpreet Singh Kohli felicitated Prof. Rao on the event.
